Animation Boot Camp for 11-16 yr olds

11th April

A laptop screen can be seen between the head and shoulders of two young people. There is an image of an animated figure, standing in front of a blue ship, dressed in a red top and leggings, with a purple mask, gloves, undergarment, and shoes. They are raising one arm into the air, with the other bent downwards.

Medway families!

We are offering free activities for the kids this Easter break, helping them to develop new skills in creative technology and storytelling. Animation Boot Camp is a 1-day workshop designed to get children and young people aged 11-16 connected with arts and culture in a hands-on way. They’ll be exploring animation techniques using stop frame with Lego, motion capture technology, voiceover and sound effects.

No experience or equipment is required.

This camp is on 11 April 2024 and will run from 9.30am-4pm.

It is produced by Electric Medway and is part of our Young Hack learning programme, in partnership with TECH31, Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries (iCCi), Docking Station and University of Kent. Our collective teams of trained and experienced tutors will be on hand to keep your child safe, engaged, and creative. At the beginning of the day (9.30am) we will meet parents at the Visitor Entrance of The Dockyard. We ask that children bring their own lunch. After booking we will email you a link to fill out a short registration form prior to your child/children attending.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT Thank you to Arts Council England for funding the workshop through TECH31 and iCCi’s young people programme. Young Hack helps young people in Medway develop entry-level skills in creative technology, making it a fairer place to get into the creative industries regardless of background.

Spaces are limited and early booking is recommended.

This is part of Medway Culture Fest 24.
