BOOK LAUNCH: Inspired by six women who shook the world
Join us as we celebrate the creative work of local people, created in response to the lives and work of the six extraordinary Gillingham women who changed the world. We will hear poems, stories and personal stories inspired by African princess Sarah Forbes Bonetta, artist Tirzah Garwood, Inventor & engineer Verena Holmes, pioneering psychiatrist & campaigner Dr Lorna Wing, suffragist & peace campaigner Kathleen Courtney, and writer Rosemary Tonks. Celebrating local and community history month, this is our final event for the circle of six project. Celebrating local and grassroots literature and culture during the Medway River Lit festival.
