Pint of Science Talk: Covid-19… Is it still a thing?

13th May | 7:00 pm

Pint of beer, with large amount of froth with black glasses on the pint glass. Pint of Science

Introducing this year’s Pint of Science events! The Faculty of Engineering and Science, University of Greenwich, will once again be taking part in the worldwide Pint of Science festival. Academics and researchers from our Faculty of Engineering and Science will be speaking at unique venues in Kent and London to share exciting and topical research in the areas of their expertise. Venues this year include a university bar and a local distillery. This year we have a record number of talks on offer. These talks are open to all and are a ‘beginner’s look’ at science topics. Attendees do not need to have any prior knowledge of these topics to attend (although we advise that Pint of Science talks are not suitable for children). All talks will begin at 7pm. Please note there is a cost of £5 a ticket to support Pint of Science.

As part of worldwide Pint of Science festival, Gauri Thapa, Research Student, and Kelly Da Costa, Postdoc, from the Medway School of Pharmacy, will delve into the ways Covid-19 is still relevant to public health. They will also look at long Covid and how this could be treated.

This insightful and topical talk will take place at The Command House Pub, Chatham, Kent
