Supporting Creative Careers in Medway – call out!

The Creative Medway Cultural Strategy is all about supporting new opportunities for everyone to get more involved in creativity in Medway, especially children and young people. It also highlights the importance of opportunities for young creatives to develop their creative careers here.  We want to make sure creativity is part of every young person’s life in Medway and we nurture home-grown talent!

As part of our plans for Festival 2024, we are planning a programme of opportunities for children and young people to get hands on with culture as makers, writers, performers and producers and to explore and develop careers in the creative industries.

As well as developing new opportunities we want to make sure we capture all the existing activities planned for 2024.  If you have a creative or professional-development opportunity for children or young people that you would like to promote as part of the festival programme, let us know about it using the form here.

We welcome submissions for plans which are still funding dependant or not fully confirmed yet. If you have an idea you want to discuss or are looking for collaborators or support with fundraising, please do get in touch.  We are also interested in hearing from anyone who might be interested in offering a long or short term creative sector work experience placement as part of the year.

Festival 2024 is also working with Medway’s brand new cultural volunteering programme Medway Change Makers to embed volunteering opportunities across the festival.  Everyone over 18 is invited to get involved as a volunteer in a way that suits their schedule, for a one-off event, every so often or to make a regular volunteering commitment.  If you are able to offer volunteering opportunities as part of your work next year, register your activity here for more information.
